Below you will find information about the marketplace itself, dates of operation, fees, and rules of participation. Once the application is complete a link will appear here at the top of the page.

About the Lumaze Event:

Where: This event takes place at 31st Street Studios in Pittsburgh’s Strip District

When: Beginning November 23 and lasting until January 4

Q: May I participate in only certain days of the event?

A: Yes, however the pricing will be reduced for season long participants, also spaces will be more limited for artists who do shorter runs. Preference will go to those who choose 5 or more days. And to those who choose days (weeks) in the first and last ones of the run.

Q: How many artists will be featured in this event?

A: There will be 36 IMI artists at this event.

Q: Is this an indoor event?

A: YES! It sure is! But it may be chilly. We will know more soon.

Q: What is the best price point for products at this event?

A: Past events have seen the best sales price points of between $5-$50 per item.

Q: Where is the artists’ market located at the event?

A: The artists market will be located at the area attendees need to visit before leaving. There is a popular attraction inside this space.

Q: What other features does Lumaze offer to attendees?

A: Lumaze will offer a safe, fun event that is ideal for anyone including families to enjoy. There will be food trucks, live music, and adult beverages available every day of the event. Throughout the event, attendees will get to participate in a scavenger hunt for hidden “gifts”, there is a train for kids, Santa Claus will be there for photos and much more. The Artists’ Market is one of the event’s main attractions.

Q: What is the fee to participate as an artist?

A: A fee schedule is below the Artists’ Market Hours of Operation.

Q: What is included in the fee?

A: You will have a 10 foot x 10 foot space, pipe and drape between artists, promotion through I Made It! Market and Lumaze, and a Market Manager to assist you when needed.

Q: What size is the space?

A: 10’x10’

Q: Can someone other than the artist staff the artist’s booth ?

A: Yes, and I Made It! Market is working on a promotion to attract individuals who can be contacted by each artist as a potential staff person. This program is only to assist in identifying individuals who are available to work. The hiring, management, and legality of the staff person is the artist’s responsibility.

Q: What is the attendance estimate?

A: Anticipated 150,000 over the span of the event’s run.

Q: What will the temperature be like inside?

A: The temperature will never dip below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Fee Schedule

SEASON: $3200 (Savings of $575)

The season will consist of 254 total hours over 32 days. Each day will average out to $100/day, an hourly rate that is $12.59/hour. This saves a season seller $575 over the span of the event.

We encourage artists to sign up for the entire season. Artists who do will be give priority in the jury. We do understand that not everyone can staff this type of event themselves and will be working to help you identify local individuals who can be hired to work at the market. Artists are encouraged to be on site as often as they are able as they are the best at selling their product.
